Before appearing for examination candidates must know about the exam pattern and complete syllabus. We provide you a list of the syllabus as per RPF 2018 exam.
The question paper will be issued in various languages including English, Urdu, Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Konkani, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Punjabi Assamese, Manipuri, Bengali.
- For Sub Inspector there are 120 questions including 50 General Awareness, 35 Arithmetic, and 35 General Intelligence and reasoning.
- For Constable, there are 120 questions including 50 in general Awareness, 35 Arithmetic, and 35 General Intelligence and reasoning.
- Constable (Ancillary) number of questions 60 with 20 in general awareness, 20 arithmetic and 20 in general intelligence and reasoning.
- There are 3 main phases in the recruitment process
- Phase I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Phase II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Phase III: Document Verification (DV)

Phase – II: Physical potency take a look at (PET) & Physical activity (PMT):

- 800 Meters Run in 4 Minutes

(i) For 1600/800 meters event just one probability are given. For the remaining events viz Long Jump and High jump, the candidates are given up to two possibilities every.
(ii) Ex-servicemen should undergo PMT and will be exempted from PET.
(iii) A Candidate must qualify in all Tests as per above norm to be eligible for consideration.
(iv) All the candidates qualifying in 1600 mtrs/800 mtrs are measured for eligibility with reference to height and chest. Chest activity are taken just for male candidates. If a male candidate’s unexpanded chest activity is below eligibility limit, expanded measurement shall not be taken and he shall be treated as disqualified.
(v) Male candidates United Nations agency don’t have minimum height shall not be thought of for activity of chest and shall be treated as disqualified.
(vi) Candidate United Nations agency don’t have minimum height, chest (unexpanded/expanded) shall be treated as having failed in PMT.
(vii) PET/PMT is qualifying in nature. No marks are to be awarded.
(viii) A grievance redressal cell will be set up for redressal of grievances related to Height and Chest measurements.
Phase – III: Document Verification:
(i) Based on the execution of hopefuls in the CBT and subject to their qualifying in PET and PMT, applicants will be called for Document Verification.
(ii) In instances of at least two applicants having same denotes, their legitimacy position will be controlled by age criteria i.e. more seasoned individual will be given higher rank.
(iii) Appointment of chose applicants is liable to their breezing through imperative Medical Fitness Test to be directed by the Railway Administration, last confirmation of instructive and classification testaments, check of character and precursors of the competitors from the neighbourhood Administration and effective finish of beginning preparation.
