How to select a test centre for CAT 2019?

Candidates are required to select four cities as their test centre preferences while filling up the application form for CAT 2019. The MBA aspirants are required to select the cities of their choice that are present in the drop down menu that is provided on the application form. The order of preference is considered for assigning the final test centre for a candidate.

To remember: Before selecting test centre for CAT 2019

  • Candidates must ensure that the test centres they select are close to their city of residence, if there is no test centre in their city of residence. This is because candidates will receive their admit cards approximately a month before the final CAT 2019 examination. Therefore, they must select locations that they can travel to within such short notice.
  • Candidates must make sure that they select their test centres for CAT 2019 in order of their preference. They must be very careful about this because if they fail to do so, they will not be able to change the order of preference after they submit the application form.
  • All MBA aspirants appearing for CAT 2019 must bear in mind that CAT authorities reserve the right to increase or decrease the number of test centres based on the number of applicants. Therefore, they reserve the right to cancel any particular city as a test centre if insufficient applicants choose it as a city preference. In that situation, candidates who have opted for that particular city as their test centre preference will be shifted to a nearby test centre location.
  • CAT officials are the only ones who reserve the authority to make the final allocation of test centres for all CAT applicants. Candidates can merely provide their test centre preferences. However, their provision of the preferences does not ensure that they appear for CAT 2019 from a test centre of their choice.

The admit card provides the details of the test centre city, address of the venue and time of examination.  The candidate can download their admit cards between Oct 24 2019 to Nov 24 2019, however a hard copy of the same will also be mailed to the candidate’s  registered address.
