NEET 2019 Announces Odisha to get around 45 Additional Medical Seats from the All India Quota Under OJEE 2019
The 45 seats that were vacant under All India Quota (AIQ) has been now recently handed over to Odisha state quota. The newly returned seats in Odisha state quota are going to be allotted to medical aspirants from Odisha through the OJEE 2019 allotment process. There are 15% of the total 1,400 state seats reserved for national-level students based upon their NEET 2019 merit rank. So, after completion of the national level admission process, vacant seats are given back to the state quota.

Usually, after the All India level admissions are completed the vacant seats, which remain are returned back to the state following which they are added to the Odisha state quota which is required to be filled by the medical aspirants from the state. With the help of this mechanism, the state of Odisha will receive an additional of 45 medical seats. These medicals seats will be allotted to the eligible students under the OJEE allotment process for state-quota.

Following the announcement of the OJEE Medical 1st Allotment Result 2019, 259 MBBS and BDS seats were still vacant from the state-quota. After that, with the addition of another 45 seats under AIQ, the number of vacant seats has reached to 304. The 2nd Round result 2019 will be declared for 304 seats from 30th July to 1st August 2019 under provisional admission. If the seats remain vacant even after the 2nd round, then the seats will be filled with the help of spot counselling round at the OJEE office between the period 4th to 8th August.
