NITI Aayog has announced the School Education Quality Index (SEQI) 2019 recently. The rank has been based on some pointers or indicators among the 20 major and 8 small states. You can get more updates on the official website of NITI Aayog, http://social.niti.gov.in/education-index .

The top three ranked states based on school education quality are:

  1. Kerala
  2. Rajasthan
  3. Karnataka

The last sport has been taken by Uttar Pradesh. Other lowest-ranked states are Jharkhand, Bihar, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The School Education Quality Index (SEQI), is being decided based on the parameters like health, education, water and sustainable development goals (SDG). Keeping these factors in mind, the list for 20 major and 8 small states have been created.

States considered among the 8 small states are Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Goa. Out of all, only West Bengal has been excluded from the list.

The indicators considered for the ranking are:

  • Quality of education.
  • Reach of the education.
  • Infrastructure and administration.

The ranking is based on the 2016-17 statistics, which was prepared with the help of the World Bank and other technical experts. The NITI Aayog’s report will soon get released by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, India.
