The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2012 results have been declared.. Thrown open on the official CAT site just a few minutes ago, officials kept to their word of declaring the results only at 3.00am.

While 2.14 lakh candidates registered for the exam, about 1,91 lakh actually took it.

However, even at 3.11 am, most initital users are not able to unlock their results. 502 Bad Gateway was the only line flashing across the scene from 3.00 am onwards. According to IIM officials, it could be because a huge number of people are probably trying to check their results at the same time.

While some candidates were able to login to https://weavedcatkozih.catiim.in, they could not retrieve their results. Most were not able to login at all. Candidates were even known to send their CAT registration numbers to numbers doing the rounds on the net which were expected to show the results, but all the efforts met with little success.

Some who finally managed to login and register their numbers got as their result a line which said ‘Error connecting to database. User sanjeevj_hasan already has more than ‘max_user_connections active connections.’ CAT candidates on PaGaLGuY.com were seen discussing who this Sanjeev Hasan is, anything to know why their results were taking time.

However the CAT site is still scrolling the line CAT 2012 results will be declared at 3.00 A.M. Login using your CAT registration number and email ID.

PaGaLGuY managed to contact the CAT Convenor Prof SSS Kumar at 3.20 am. He was up and awake and as worried about the server problem. He and his tech team were working on it

At about 4.00 am, those trying to search their results got a message saying that the server had encountered an initial error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete the request. Some candidates even sent queries to the Prometric helpline but were told they would get replies within two working days.

By 4,45 am, a few more candidates were able to see their results. The CAT Convenor informed that the situation was slightly better as well though the majority were still seen to be struggling to get their results.

By 5.30 am, however the server had eased out and many more candidates were able to see their results. It was also possibly the time that those who were not able to check their results had decided to put off the job till later in the day.
