FMS Delhi Summer placements 2012-2014: 39% of the batch will train in Sales and Marketing

Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi concluded its summer internship placements for this year with 90 recruiters making a total of 215 final offers to the MBA batch of 2012-14.
Of the total batch strength of 222, twelve students did not participate in the placements. The schools placements team claimed that some were opting out to prepare for the Indian administrative services exam, a few were searching for summer placements themselves and a couple of students were looking to pursue PhD, hence werent interested in the corporate world.

TATA Administrative Services (TAS), Deloitte, ITC and Axis Bank were the largest recruiters of summer interns from the b-school. Deutsche Bank and Hindustan Unilever made international offers to students. Sales and Marketing and Finance were the leading functions, hiring 39% and 29% of the batch in that order.

Sales and Marketing: 39% of the batch would intern in Sales and Marketing roles. Companies offered a variety of profiles including Customer Business Development by Procter & Gamble, Technical Marketing by Adobe and traditional sales and marketing profiles offered by Hindustan Unilever, Airtel and HT Media.
Some other companies that came on campus include Adobe, Akzo Nobel, Asian Paints, Boston Scientific, Britannia, Coca Cola, Dabur, Genzyme, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Heinz, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, Idea, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft Cadbury, L’Oreal, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, Nestle, Perfetti, Philips, Reckitt Benckiser, Sab Miller, Times OOH, Titan, Nokia, Sony Entertainment Television and Zee.
Finance: Morgan Stanley and Langham Capital offered Front-end Investment Banking profiles, Standard Chartered and Deutsch Bank offered Financial Market profiles, Avigo Capital and Helion Ventures hired students for roles in Private Equity and Venture Capital. Profiles in treasury, corporate banking and risk and operations were offered by companies like American Express, bank of America, Citibank, HDFC, HSBC and ICICI Prudential.
Some other companies that also offered finance roles include Dun & Bradstreet, ICRA, TVS, Capital Funds, Zee, CRISIL, Airtel, Akzo Nobel, Coca Cola, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Hindustan Unilever, Lanco Infratech Ltd., TATA Motors, DMI Finance, Bank of Baroda Four-S Services and Development Credit Bank
Consulting/Strategy/General management: TAS, Mahindra and Mahindra (Group Management Cadre Program), Godrej, Reliance Industies Ltd and Singhania Group offered general amanagement and strategy profiles. In consulting, Deloitte offered Strategy and operations profile, KPMG offered Strategic and Commercial Intelligence profile and Capgemini Management Consulting offered Management Consulting profiles. Other companies that offered consulting roles include ICRA Management Consulting, Nodwin Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Redseer Consulting.
IT/Operations/HR: While Bristlecone and Valcon Consulting offered Operations Consultancy profiles; Flipkart, American Express and GAIL offered Operations roles and Michael Page recruited for its HR Consultancy profile. TCS and Wipro offered IT Consulting roles. Other notable companies in the function include Asian Paints, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, BASF, Vedanta, UTI and Capgemini.
