IRMA Final Placements 2012: Bihar Govt, Amul and Kancor largest recruiters
Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) completed its placements for the class of 2012 of the Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM). A total of 225 offers were made by 65 organisations during the week-long process, of which 105 offers made by 28 companies were accepted. Two students accepted pre-placement offers (PPOs).

Sector-wise drilldown
The dairy (21 offers), agribusiness (20) and livelihood business (20) sectors accounted for nearly 60% of the placements. Rural finance companies recruited 19 of the total batch strength of 105, while e-governance, corporate social responsibility and ICT & Livelihood made seven, three and two offers respectively. Companies in social research and consulting made two offers, whereas the education sector absorbed one student.
The Government of Bihar’s Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS) was the largest recruiter, which hired 16 students for their livelihood intervention ‘Jeevika’, while the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) which markets its products under the ‘Amul’ brand recruited 15 participants as senior executives. Kancor Ingredients Ltd, which was the third-largest recruiter hired nine students. Yes Bank recruited six for its agribusiness, rural and social banking division.
Dairy: Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Mother Dairy F&V; Pvt Limited were the firms that hired from the Dairy sector.
Agribusiness: Kancor Ingredients Limited, Gujarat State Fertiliser Corporation Limited (GSFC), ITC’s e-Choupal, Coromandel International’s Mitra Retailing, DSCL’s Haryali Kisan Bazaar & Bioseeds were the organisations representing the Agribusiness sector in the placement sector.
Livelihood: Bihar Government’s Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotions Society (Jeevika), Andhra Pradesh’s Government Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, Agha Khan RuralSupport Programme were the companies that picked up students from this sector.
Rural Finance: Yes Bank, Agribusiness Rural & Social Banking, IDBI Rural Business Unit, IFMR capital, IFMR Rural Finance, IFMR CIRM, Rabo Bank India Operations, NABARD Financial Services Limited were the banks and financial organisations that engaged the students.
Financial Inclusion: Fino Fintech Foundation, Atyati Technologies, TCS Financial Inclusion were the companies that hired from this sector.
e-Governance: AISECT, SREI Sahaj e-Village Pvt Ltd were the organizations that employed students from this sector.
Corporate Social Responsibility: This sector was represented by Reliance Foundation’s Mission BIJ.
ICT & Livelihood: This sector was represented by Digital Green, New Delhi, and absorbed 1.9% of the total batch strength.
Education: Rajiv Education & Employment Mission of AP (REEMAP), Government of AP, Hyderabad. This sector absorbed 1% of the total strength.
Social Research and Consulting : Intellecap absorbed 1.9% of the total strength.
