Divyansh wins silver medal for the country in International Physics Olympiad 2016

Divyansh Garg bagged a silver medal for the country in the final round of the International Physics Olympiad held in Zurich, Switzerland on 11 July 17, 2016. Divyansh, who is taking coaching at the coaching capital of India, Kota, was selected as part of a 5 member team to represent India in the Final Round of the International Physics Olympiad. After a stiff competition, 35 students were selected from across the country for the Orientation cum Selection Camp held at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Mumbai (HBCSE). Out of these, 5 students were selected for the International Round. Divyansh, who was amongst those 5 selected students, won a silver medal in the final round of the International Physics Olympiad held in Switzerland. The brightest students from across 90 countries participated in the final round. A total of 3 gold and 2 silver medals were bagged by the team that represented India. Divyansh is a student of Allen Career Institute of Kota. 

According to Divyansh, he has been selected for the Tata Scholarship by Cornell University, America. He won a scholarship of USD 71,000 offered by the Tata Education & Development Trust for better research in the field of Computer Science. Also, Divyansh has bagged the prestigious KVPY Scholarship along with being an NTSE Scholar too. Earlier, Divyansh had also won a Gold medal in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2013. In the recent results of BITS Pilani, he scored a total of 424 marks out of 450. His average score in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the 12th Boards has been 99.3% with a score of 302 in JEE Main this year.

The three students who won Gold Medals include Debaditya Pramanik from Kolkata, Preey Shah from Mumbai, and Gowtham Amirthya S.N. from Hyderabad, while Manan Bhatia from Lucknow along Divyansh won silver medals at the International Physics Olympiad, 2016.
