CBSE declared cut-off marks for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017, Click here to know

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2017 results today. Along with the results Cut-off scores for appearing in JEE Advanced 2017 has also been made public. Although students are facing trouble to download their result from the website, they can check the cut off marks down below.

Over 11 lakh candidates took JEE Main 2017 on April 2, 8, and 9. The top 2,20,000 students across all categories are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2017. Candidates scoring the Cut-off marks will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2017, scheduled to take place on May 21. 

Speaking to PaGaLGuY, Head of Academics in Allen Career Institute, Jaipur Ashish Arora said that although the lower level cut off scores have gone down, the top 100 cut off scores have gone high. “The top 100 cut off marks for top 100 was in 310 last year, this year it has gone up to 318-19,” said Arora.

Asking about why the cut off scores for JEE Advanced 2017 has gone down to 81 for general students, Arora blamed the tough Mathematics paper this year. “The Mathematics paper was tricky and lengthy, which resulted in confusion for weaker students. Thus aspirants with strong preparation of Mathematics had the upper hand over others in JEE Main 2017,” said Arora.
