Supreme Courts cancels AIPMT, orders retest

Dear Readers,

The Supreme Court of India has scrapped the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) that was held

on the 3rd of May, 2015. The Supreme Court has asked CBSE to conduct a fresh examination

within the next 4 weeks. This judgment came in the wake of various media reports regarding

irregularities and large scale cheating in the exam. Around 6.3 lakh candidates had appeared

for the prestigious examination. The result of this test was to be announced on the 5th of June,

2015. But, on the direction of the premier court, the declaration of the results was postponed.

It

may be noted here that, as per its notification released on 7th May, 2015, CBSE had denied that

there was any leakage of the AIPMT 2015 paper.

The AIPMT is held in a single stage and is an objective type test. This 3-hour entrance test

consists of 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates can

appear for the test in either English or Hindi.
