All about XAT 2018: Latest Developments & Exam Structure
With a legacy of 60 years, XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test) is considered one of India’s most accurate predictors of academic success in an MBA course. More than 130 MBA colleges including prestigious names such as XLRI, XIMB, SPJIMR, BIMTECH and TAPMI accept XAT scores as qualifying criteria for admission. From 2017 onwards, XAT scores are also accepted by Asian Institute of Management, Manila.
XAT is conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI).
XAT 2018 Latest Developments:
XAT 2018 is now a computer based exam!
Unlike the previous 60 years, XAT-2018 is going to be conducted as a computer based aptitude test. It will be conducted on the 7th of January, 2018. It will be a 3.5-hours test starting at 10 am and lasting till 1:35 pm.
Exam Structure:
The exam structure will be similar to that of previous years with the following sections:
PART-A
• Quantitative Ability
• English Language and Logical Reasoning
• Decision Making
PART-B
• General Knowledge
• Essay Writing
There will be approximately 75 questions in the PART-A. Hundred and seventy minutes (170) will be allowed to answer the same. Candidates can skip up to 8 questions for which there will be no negative marking. If more questions are skipped, a negative marking of 0.05 per question will apply.
Candidates will be allowed 40 minutes to answer the GK and Essay. There is no negative marking for these sections.
Registrations for XAT close on 30th of November. However, candidates will be allowed to register until December 15, 2017, by paying late fee.
