5 Tips to handle your most feared subjects in IBPS Clerk 2016 Examination

The prelims written examination for Indian Banking Personnel Selection clerical grade recruitment is going to take place in the month of November. IBPS, which is the recruitment authority to conduct the examination across the nation, has issued the notification and invited interested and eligible candidates to apply for clerical posts.

The very first hurdle to clear in the overall selection procedure is the prelims online examination round. The prelims round consists of three subjects namely English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Prelims round is generally of easy to moderate level, which students with proper preparation can clear easily. There are certain subjects that the candidates often find difficult and thus they must give prominence to such subjects and better their performance before the examination. Some tips might help them in handling the subject more effectively.

    • Do not avoid the subject during preparation: The time that the candidates get during their preparation period is the time that makes or breaks their chances to crack the respective competitive examinations. They should not avoid the particular subject that they feel they are weak in. They should instead try and address the subject more in their preparatory period. They must go through the subject on a daily basis and solve problems from various online and offline sources available.
    • Reading out loud: Many candidates find the English language paper to be the toughest among the others. It happens due to the lack of proper conditioning of the language during their school years. Such candidates must not move away from trying and learning the language anew, as they would have to pass in all the subjects in order to move to the mains written examination. They should immediately start reading and find the weaker zones and start working on them. Its important that they go through the basic grammar and strengthen their vocabulary before appearing for the examination.
    • Practicing problems on a regular basis: Another subject that is most feared among the candidates appearing for the banking exams is, Quantitative Aptitude. Many find it difficult to understand the mathematical formulas and tricks to solve the problems. The candidates must shed their fear and practice the problems regularly, in order to better their prospects of getting through to the mains round. They should try and figure out answers of the questions in mock question banks and previous year question papers.
    • Go ahead with the plans for your study: Candidates must follow the pattern that they have set for themselves for the entire preparation period. It allows them to keep a balance between all the subjects and helps them prepare well in all of them. Though, they can put an additional effort to the subject they think they are weakest in, they must not overdo it as they need to fare well in each of the subjects in the examination.
    • Read success stories of people: There are many success stories of people available in the online media that can give candidates the much needed confidence when it comes to preparing for their most feared subjects. These stories can help them regain their conviction to get back to studying hard and prepare for the subjects before the examination with ease.
