3. How important is demographic diversity while choosing applicants for the MBA program? Can you give us a snapshot of the current batch to demonstrate?
Diversity is a key component in today’s work place and diversity of students helps in creating an ideal classroom environment which foster the spirit of debate and different opinions and viewpoints which ultimately leads to creative and innovative thinking. Diversity of thoughts, ethnicity, age, culture, country of origin, and diversity in interests, hobbies actually bring the people together. It helps the students in understanding cultural differences and prepares them to work in a multicultural environment at a global platform which is really very critical.
Currently, we have students from about 21 states across India and also from the countries like; Congo, Afghanistan, Nepal, Nigeria etc which actually helps the students in understanding the differences and they learn to work in a diverse environment.
4. With your experience of over a decade in various education related roles, how does it help you choose the right applicant for Amity Gurgaon?
The Amity Gurgaon MBA focuses on equipping new generation of business leaders who have the skills required to find innovative solutions and create impact in society, therefore, we look for candidates who have aptitude to contribute to this goal. We aim to recruit a diverse cohort and look at every candidate on their own merits. Our four stages industry-collaborative admission procedure is very rigor which helps in choosing the right candidates who fits into the innovative culture of Amity Gurgaon.
5. You have supervised research scholars in multiple areas of Finance. What is your feedback on the quality of research material that is coming out of our country
There is drastic need to improve quality of research in the country, especially in the area of sustainable agriculture, affordable health care and energy security. It is important for the academic institutions and industry to collaborate in the diverse areas for quality research.
