Admissions to undergraduate engineering courses available at various engineering colleges in Jharkhand is conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.

Jharkhand has many institutes of repute like Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, Xavier Institute of Social Sciences (XISS), Ranchi and Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur and NIT, Jamshedpur.

This year, admission to engineering colleges in Jharkhand is based on JCECE (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) 2016. The exam will be conducted in both online and pen and paper based format. The exam will assess students’ knowledge in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The 3 hours examination will have objective type questions and will consist of 50 questions each on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question will carry 1 mark each and there will be no negative marking for an incorrect answer.

In this particular article, let us take a look at the Birsa Institute of Technology, Sindri.

The Birsa Institute of Technology is based in Sindri. This Government engineering college was established in 1949. The institute is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and accredited to NBA. BIT, Sindri is affiliated to Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh.

The institute is spread over 400 acre campus are and has all the necessary infrastructure like multimedia auditoriums, classrooms, labs, library, seminar halls, hostel facilities and transport facility. The college provides good facilities for research and development. The college has various clubs such as Arts Club, Photography club and sports club.

The college has a Training & Placement cell that conducts various personality development programs. The cell guides students during summer training and final placements.

The institute offers undergraduate programs in Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication engineering, Information Technology, Metallurgical engineering, Mining engineering, Production engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
