CBSE Class 12 result to be declared on May 28

Finally clearing the air of doubt, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) notified the anxious class 12 students that the results will be made available on the official website on May 28. Results for Class X and XII were on a hold for a couple of days as the Delhi High Court ordered CBSE to carry forward the moderation policy for the academic year.

Tension and anxiety was mounting on the CBSE class 12 students with each passing day as they depend on the scores of the board examination to apply for various higher education institutes. Candidates who have taken national level examinations like the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) were also waiting for the board results eagerly. On Sunday, May 28 results for all the CBSE regions will be made available on the official website of CBSE. Along with it, candidates will be able to download their results from www.cbseresults.nic.in  and www.results.nic.in .

After the Delhi High Court judgement, the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar met with CBSE officials and legal help was sought. The CBSE decided not to challenge the Delhi High Court order in the Supreme Court after legal considerations. Earlier, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar also assured students that the results would not be delayed this year.

However, it would be interesting to note how the CBSE has used the moderation policy for marking this year. CBSE had come under a lot of pressure last year when it was alleged that the moderation policy is responsible for the spike in the marks of CBSE board students, resulting in insurmountable cut off marks at various institutes.
