Arranging the areas in descending order (highest to lowest), the priority ranking of subject areas for GK are –
- General Science and Science & Technology
- Geography
- Polity, Governance, and Institutions
- Current Affairs
- History
- Economics
English
The English section of the CDS exam shows consistency in pattern which is indicated through the graph below.
Over the past years, the following trends are clearly visible –
- Vocabulary based questions on Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion are gaining more space
- There has been a reduction in Grammar based questions such as Errors, Omissions etc.
Mathematics –
The Maths section of the CDS exam shows slight variations in pattern which is indicated through the graph below.
Over the past years, the following trends are clearly visible –
- Algebra based questions which include Sets, Functions, Relations, Quadratic Equations have seen a sharp decline over time.
- Trigonometry based questions have also witnessed a steady decline.
