1. AAP KI
Sarkar in Delhi, Kejriwal to take oath on Feb 14.

i. Aam Admi Party stunned everyone and creates
history by winning 67 out of 70 seats in Delhi assembly election.

ii. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will now take
oath as Delhi Chief Minister for the second time on February 14 at the Ramlila
Grounds.

iii. The 49 day rule of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal
proved more than enough to enable them to win comfortably against an ever
strengthening BJP. The AAP has got the number, better than it ever imagined. It
now has to deliver on the promises.

iii. The BJP won only three seats and its chief
ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi loses the traditional stronghold of Krishna
Nagar which was long held by party veteran Harsh Vardhan.
iv. Jagdish Pradhan, Om Prakash
Sharma and Vijender Gupta are the only three BJP candidates who withstood the
AAP Tsunami and managed to win their seats in Delhi Assembly election.

v. Congress, which ruled the national capital
for 15 years till December 2013, has been reduced to zero. Congress stalwart
and chief ministerial candidate Ajay Maken was pushed to the third spot in
Sadar Bazar where AAP candidate was on top and the BJP at number two spot.
Following the debacle, Maken resigned as Congress general secretary taking
responsibility.

2. National
Deworming Day observed today

i. National Deworming Day is observed today in twelve
states of India. Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Jagat Prakash
Nadda declared 10 February as the National Deworming Day.

ii. It is an initiative to reduce  the threat of parasitic worm infections, a
widespread health issue affecting over 24 crore children in India alone.

iii. According to WHO estimates, nearly 24 crore children
in the age group of 1-14 years are at risk of intestinal parasitic worm
infestation in India

3. “Kaise Bani
Top Cop” book released by Kiran Bedi

i. A book on first woman IPS officer Kiran Bedi
 “Kaise Bani Top Cop” released by Kiran
Bedi 9 February 2015.

ii. Book is written by her sister’s Reeta Peshawaria Menon
and Anu Peshawaria.

4. Adani to set
up 10000 MW Solar Park in Rajasthan

i. The Rajasthan Government signed a deal with Adani
Enterprises Ltd (AEL) to set up 10000 MW
Solar Park in Rajasthan.

ii. The joint venture project to set up the solar park
includes generation projects and a manufacturing unit for solar module, parts
and equipments.
iii. Adani
Enterprises Ltd, the flagship company of Adani Group will set up solar project
of 5000 MW on its own in the next five years.

5. E-wallet ‘Pockets’ Digital Bank service
launched by ICICI bank

i. ICICI bank
has launched E-wallet ‘Pockets’ service to allow any individual to instantly
make transactions on a mobile phone with or without a bank account.

ii. The service
is also known as Digital Bank ,
which allow customers to deposit or transfer from any bank account through a
debit card or Net banking account and start transacting immediately on a mobile
without any documentation.

iii. A customer
can pay bills, recharge billes, book movies tickets etc. Users can send money
to any e-mail ID, mobile number, Facebook friends, and bank account.

6. Yash Bhati Samman conferred on Vinod Mehta

i. Yash Bhati Samman 2015 conferred on Vinod
Mehta, a award given by Uttar Pradesh government.

ii. Vinod Mehta is an eminent journalist and writer,
who launched a number of successful publications such as the Sunday
Observer, Indian Post, The Independent, The Pioneer (Delhi edition) and
Outlook.

iii.
He has authored a biography of Meena Kumari (movie actress and poet) and Sanjay
Gandhi- The Sanjay Story (2012). About Yash Bharti Samman

Yash Bharti Samman
was instituted by Mulayam Singh Yadav in 1994 which is honoured by the Uttar
Pradesh Government for excellence in literature, fine arts, folk and classical
music and sports.

7. Facebook and Reliance joined hands for
internet push in India

i. Facebook and Reliance Communications (RCom) join
hands to launch Internet.org in India.

ii. The
app, aimed at low income and rural users, will offer access to more than 30 web
services, including job listings, healthcare and education sites, as well as
Facebook’s own social network and messaging services.

iii. It will be
provided via the Android operating system.

iv. India, the world’s second-biggest mobile
market, will become the first country in Asia to get the new
Internet.org app, which targets mobile phone users.

8. Amartya Sen conferred
with Charleston-EFG John Maynard Keynes Prize

i. Eminent economist and Nobel laureate Amartya
Sen has been awarded the inaugural Charleston-EFG John Maynard Keynes Prize.

ii. He is known as one of the veteran Economist
and thinkers the field of famine, poverty, social choice and welfare economics.

iii. He is currently working as a Professor of
Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University.

iv. The  Charleston-EFG John Maynard Keynes Prize,
established in memory of the famous British economist and was jointly conceived
by Keith Gapp, head of strategy and marketing of EFG International, and the
Charleston Trust.
