There is excellent news for the candidates who come from a legal background and wish to start a career with the government of India. As per the latest notification published on the official website of the Department of Legal Affairs (DOLA) on 9th November 2019, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, applications have been invited from interested candidates for the post of Consultant and Senior Consultant.
Candidates need to submit their application in the prescribed format along with supporting documents through offline mode, i.e. through post. The application in the prescribed format along with necessary documents must be sealed in an envelope and titled “Application for the Post of Consultant in the Department of Legal Affairs.”
The sealed envelope should be addressed to: “Sh. A.K. Joshi, Deputy Secretary, Room No. 418 A-Wing, Ministry of Law and Justice, Department of Legal Affairs, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi – 110001.”

Candidates who wish to apply for the advertised vacancies under the Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) Recruitment 2019, must note the below mentioned important dates: –

The last date for receipt of the application and supporting documents in 24th November 2019. Candidates must rush to submit their applications before the cut-off date because only those applications will be considered for recruitment which is received before 24th November 2019.
Under no circumstances will any applications be considered if they are received after the last date. As per the notification, a total of 2 vacancies are to be filled under the Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) Recruitment 2019, i.e. one for senior consultant post and one for consultant post.
Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) Recruitment 2019: important information
Candidates who are interested in pursuing a career with the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice under the Department of Legal Affairs (DoLA) Recruitment 2019 drive, must note the below mentioned important information: –
- The maximum age limit for the post of the consultant is 30 years and for the post of the senior consultant is 40 years, as on the date of engagement.
- If a retired government employee is applying, then he/she must exhibit relevant experience and should not be older than 62 years on the date of appointment.
- Candidates must have completed at least a bachelor’s degree in law from a recognised university in India.
- Work experience of minimum 5 years is required for the post of consultant and of 10 years for the post of senior consultant. Prior knowledge in finance, administration, and management will be preferred.
- The consolidated remuneration payable to the consultant is subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 and for a senior consultant is a maximum of Rs. 50,000.
