Engineering colleges in Goa are under the ambit of the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa. The DTE is responsible for facilitating new technical education institutions and courses in Goa. It also helps to manage and control technical education institutes through rules and regulations of statutory bodies like AICTE, PCI, COA, etc., as approved by the state government.
Goa has several institutes of repute like the National Institute of Technology and Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Goa, is all set to start its first academic year this year.
Admissions to engineering colleges in Goa this year is based on the Goa Common Entrance Test (Goa CET) conducted by the DTE, Goa.
The Goa CET 2016 will be held on 10.05.2016 (Physics and Chemistry paper) and 11.05.2016 (Mathematics paper). The entrance exam is conducted online and the medium of instruction is English. The engineering entrance will comprise papers in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be 75 questions from each section, carrying one mark each. The duration for each paper is 2 hours. There will be no negative marking for the paper.
