Dr.Rao, MYRA School Of Business-Invited as Visiting Faculty on teaching assignment to University of South Pacific

Dr. Sudhendar Rao, Professor of Information Systems and Dean – Student Affairs, MYRA School of Business, has been invited as a visiting faculty to the University of the South Pacific (USP) for a period of three months, May through August 2015.

The University of the South Pacific (USP) is the premier provider of tertiary education in the Pacific region and an International Centre of Excellence for Teaching, Research Consulting and Training on all aspects of Pacific Culture, Environment and Human Resource Development needs. University of the South Pacific (USP) offers various programs – Pacific Technical and Further Education (TAFE), Bachelors, Postgraduate degree programs, Diploma and Certificate programs.  University of the South Pacific (USP) also offers a formal regional continuing education programme through distance and flexible learning.

During this trimester, Dr. Sudhendar Rao will be teaching two courses -‘Management Information Systems’ and ‘Operations Management’ at the Graduate School of Business of University of the South Pacific (USP). The classes will be held at USP campuses in Suva and Nadi.

Dr. Sudhendar Rao has a PhD in Decision Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – top ranked Engineering Institute in the US. His areas of research include Decision Making & Decision process, Cryptography, Technology Trends and others.  Dr. Rao is Professor of Information Systems & Dean- Student Affairs at the MYRA School of Business, Mysore. He brings considerable years of experience and expertise in diverse domains and functional areas having worked in major global companies both in the US and India. He began his career in Marketing at Sonata Software, Bangalore after obtaining his Post Graduate Degree in Industrial Engineering from NITIE, Mumbai. He then worked in the US in a consulting role in KPMG Consulting, Washington DC, USA and later as Technology Officer, JP Morgan Chase, NYC, USA.  He returned to India in 2008 and worked as IT Architect at Honeywell International, India, for nearly five years before joining MYRA in July 2013.  He teaches courses on e-Commerce, Global Competitiveness and others. He has considerable publications in leading Information Systems related Journals.
