Faculty from Apeejay School present session at Asia-Pacific Conference
Three faculty members from Apeejay School of Management, Delhi delivered a session during the conference. Dr Alok Saklani, Director Apeejay School of Management, chaired the session titled ‘Reward Programs & Loyalty Behaviour in the Indian Retail Sector’. In the first session Mr Praphul Mishra, CEO- Netcarrots Loyalty Services, presented a lecture on ‘Structure and Design of Reward Programs in India’. In the second session Dr Alok Saklani, Director Apeejay School of Management discussed about the ‘Impact of Reward Programs on Customer Loyalty’. He said, aDoubts exist on the very efficacy of reward programs, whether they actually impact the buying behaviour as mixed effects results have been observed in repeated studies.a He proposed a model on the impact of reward programs on customer loyalty. The third session was on Research Perspectives on Retail Loyalty Programs, in which Prof Amit Mookerji, Professor-IIM-L presented his paper on the findings of some surveys on Indian customers. According to the paper, aSurveys on Indian customers have revealed many interesting facets of shopping behaviour that may not be amenable to change using the rewards commonly used. For customers to change their habits, it may need specific values from loyalty programs.a
