Final leg of placement season at VJIM-Hyd sees Phenomenal success

With the first phase of placement being over, Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad, has some great news to share. Class of 2014 has already been cherry-picked by some of the top recruiters of the country and is all set to start their professional journey in no time. The college has officially revealed that as on April 05, 2014, 80 companies have recruited from campus and 75% of the batch has been placed successfully. More companies are in pipeline and the school is expecting to complete the placement by first week of May, 2014. VJIM has been consistently setting its own placement record and toppling it every year. 2014 has been no exception.

A whooping 7.8 lacs p.a. stands to be the highest package offered so far and the average salary offered is an impressive figure of 4.0 lacs p.a. this year. Marketing, Finance and HR sectors, in particular, accounted for the chunk of recruitment numbers. Most of the companies have picked more than two students from campus and few of the leading names would include: Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, Karur Vysya Bank, Info Edge India Ltd, South Indian Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Projects Ltd, Tata Teleservices Ltd, Invesco, T.I.M.E, from the long list of marquee recruiters.

For VJIM, Marketing has of course been its core strength and naturally, majority of the jobs offered to VJIM students have been in the Marketing domain. While the number of recruiting companies has shot up significantly high this year, what is interesting to note is the fact that 45 new companies made it to the campus as first time recruiters. This helped students choose from multiple options and opt for the the profiles that suit them best.

VJIM’s philosophy gets further reflected in the fact that old recruiters keep coming back to the campus to select VJIM graduates. This year, the school witnessed 33 old recruiters as of April 5, 2014. The college’s reputation in the industry has of course been one of the primary contributors in this. VJIM alumni over the years have proved that they stay longer in their first jobs and are willing to walk the extra-mile to prove their mettle and credentials at their work place.

When asked to Mr. Srinivas Kulkarni, Operations Head, Mahindra Satyam about VJIM graduates’ performance in the company, he remarks- “We have hired associates from VJIM and we found them to be smart, able to quickly acclimatize with the corporate environment and start delivering the responsibilities assigned to them with little guidance and coaching. Their subject knowledge and application of the same in their day to day work is also good.”

Adding to the reputation is the international pedagogy followed at VJIM. With the latest industry practices being manifested in the classroom sessions and regular field visits, the school’s course curriculum is quite at-par with the industry needs. While explaining the academic rigor of the school Dr. Kamal Ghosh Ray, Director, VJIM, Hyderabad says- “VJIM has redefined business education as a perfect mix of ‘global width’ with ‘local depth’. The school is seeking to achieve the ‘global width’ by adopting the international curriculum, pedagogy and best practices, which are applied in the local business settings. The ‘local depth’ is explored through developing ‘industry-specific skills’, while meeting the needs of Indian businesses for which, VJIM has repositioned business education.” No wonder, recruiters are flocking in to VJIM campus to hire fresh and industry-ready graduates.

Established over two decades ago, this premier business school, located in the plush city, Hyderabad has been emphasizing on the fact that it is not just about getting jobs but making careers, when at VJIM. Quality placement has played an integral role in catapulting the school among 21 best private B-schools in the country.
