Food Security Bill, a Boom is a myth!
Let me start with a Chinese proverb “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime!” This proverb is self explanatory for the people who think food security bill is a boom for this country! Let me be clear that I am not against anyone who is trying to feed our poor brothers of this country! To feed more than 67% of 1.2 billion population is easier said than done. Before getting carried away by the promise which congress made we should look at the credibility of the congress govt. How many policies did really reach the people under their government. If it did really reach the poor there wouldn’t have been a fresh need to bring in a food security law! and adding to this the debt which our country bears is increasing year by year, how can a government with no sustainable development can really implement this and if at all it did implement what would be the future of this country. It’s economy will deter to hell and would be irrevocable for the future leaders who aspire to lead this country! It’ll hit hard on the middle class through inflation, unemployment, brain drain and the list goes on! Congress was in power for a decade now, 10 long years. Isn’t that a lot of time! I believe a lot can be done to empower this country in a well organized manner! Govt. could have rooted out the cause for poverty and could have eradicated poverty at least by a decent percentage in this 10 long years! It didn’t do much to safeguard its exchequer letting scammers to mushroom!
India ranks 136 in terms of Multi Dimension Poverty (MPI), throwing some light on what MPI is, it is a index which looks at different factors to determine poverty beyond income-based lists. It replaced the previous Human Poverty Index. Countries like Brazil, Russia and china which are the members of BRICS association ranks better than us. Does this rank give us a reason to boast about ourselves that we are the moving towards prosperity! Leave alone industrializing our country but at least congress could have done something sustainable for our country’s poor! What do you think is the actual pride? Eradicating Poverty or lowering the Poverty line! I believe the reason behind this is our Congress govt. lacks Vision! A person with a vision moves ahead in an organized way and has his eye only on his vision. This country needs a visionary leader who can empower this country unlike congress which is vaguely running the govt. brings in lame and baseless policies which are ruining the lives of people! I want to conclude by telling the govt. that ‘We do not want to get treated like beggars, give us job we will eat our own hard earned bread ‘ Vande mataram!
