Dear readers,

One of the most common queries that plague
students, is the profile and branches available in various colleges. We begin this new
series of articles in order to give you comprehensive information about the
various engineering colleges in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu is a frontrunner in world class education in India
and is one of the most literate states in India. Its literacy rate was 80.33%
in 2011, which is well above the national average. We hereby bring you
information about engineering colleges and institutions from this state so that
you can make an informed decision while seeking admissions here. Do note that Tamil
Nadu has 37 universities and over 552 engineering colleges.

These colleges admit students to various programs in engineering
based on the students’ performance in the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission
(TNEA) test. The TNEA test for 2015 was conducted by Anna University in June,
2015. The counselling for various engineering colleges concluded on the 31st
of July, 2015. The TNEA exam 2015 was based on objective type questions on Mathematics,
physics and chemistry and candidates needed to answer 150 questions in 150
minutes. There was no negative marking and the test was administered in only
one language, namely English.

In this series of articles, we now bring to you the details of each
college, its profile and the selection process for admission to that particular
college. We also bring to you the details regarding the branches offered by
each college and the seats available for each branch. We will also try to
provide information about requisite cut-offs for admission to each institute.

In this article, let us take a look at Government
School of Engineering, Bargur.

This college was set up in 1994 by the Gojan Educational Trust
Chennai. It is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
It is located in the Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu and is the youngest of
the six government engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. The college has state of
the art infrastructure, including a well stock library, well equipped labs and
various sports facilities for students. The college also has a training and
placement cell to help students during recruitment.
