‘I want to go to the Himalayas’- missing IITMadras student’s note.

Prathyusha Purushothamam (26) a second year M.S student of IIT-Madras has been missing since Monday January 18. Prathyusha who hails from Andhra Pradesh was last seen on Saturday at her Sabarmati hostel in IIT-Madras campus. A missing person case has been filed on Monday January 18 at the Kotturpuram Police station in Chennai.
A note written by Prathyusha had been recovered by her friends
in her hostel room on monday January 18. The note was then handed over to the
hostel warden, who then reported to the Kotturpuram Police station. According
to the police, the note divulges the reason for her disappearance from the
hostel campus. “Prathyusha seems to have a spiritual longing, and wants to know
the higher facts of God. She wants to attain sainthood and wishes to visit the
Himalayas in search of spirituality. This has been construed by the Police in
their preliminary investigation of the note” the police official added.
He added that Prathyusha had contacted her parents on Saturday,
January 16, after which her Mobile phone is switched off. The kotturpuram
police are looking for Prathyusha’s mobile phone details, through which they
are trying to find her last location. The police are also tracking her last
Bank transactions, through ATM’s .
Prathyusha has neither contacted her parents, nor her friends in
the last three days. She had not told anyone about her spiritual trip to the
Himalayas either.
