IBPS Clerk 2017: Exam dates, Eligibility, Syllabus, Pattern, Official sample questions

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released exam dates for online test to be conducted for recruiting probable candidates through IBPS Clerk 2017 exam (CWE CLERK-VI ). The IBPS Clerk 2017 exam will be conducted on the following dates. 

  • IBPS Clerk Prelims 2017 (CWE CLERK-VII ): 02.12.2017, 03.12.2017, 09.12.2017 & 10.12.2017
  • IBPS Clerk Mains 2017 (CWE CLERK-VII ): 21.01.2018

Eligibility for IBPS exam

  • Age As on 01.08.2017: Minimum 20 years, Maximum: 28 years i.e. A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1989 and not later than 01.08.1995 (both dates inclusive)

Relaxation:

1. SC/ST: 5 years

2. OBC: 3 years

3. Person with disabilities: 10 years

  • Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India. The candidate must possess original Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate.
  • Computer Literacy: Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory i.e. candidates should have Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language/ should have studied Computer / Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute.
  • Syllabus:

  • Pattern for IBPS Clerk 2017 Preliminary Exam

Preliminary Examination for IBPS Clerk 2017 will consist of Objective Tests for 100 marks and will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows

Candidates shall be required to qualify in each test as per cut-off marks determined in each test. Each candidate will have to secure a minimum score on each of the tests as well as on the Total to be considered to be shortlisted for IBPS Clerk Mains 2017. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cutoffs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for Main Examination. However, decision of IBPS in this regard shall be final and binding upon the candidates.

Synonymous to Banking recruitments, Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a private agency in India. Established in 1975 as Personnel Selection Services, IBPS gained its autonomy in 1984. Gaining its prominence after a key event in the Indian Banking Sector (Nationalisation of 14 Major Banks in 1969), IBPS was entrusted to fulfill the human resource demand for the newly established branches of various Banks.

In 2015-16, a total of 1.27 crore candidates registered for various IBPS examinations. IBPS conducts recruitment exams to all Public Sector Banks, SBI, Associate Banks of SBI, LIC, RBI, NABARD, SIDBI and Insurance companies.

The Common Written Evaluation (CWE) conducted by IBPS is a must for anyone who wants to take up a job in any public sector and Regional Rural Banks for posts varying from clerk to probationary officer and management trainee.
