The reputed Indira Gandhi Open University has requested applications OPENNET – VIII (entrance test) for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing for the January session 2020. All the interested applicants can register online for the same through the official website of IGNOU — www.ignou.ac.in .

Also, candidates opting for the same should note that the program study centres for Post Basic BSc Nursing are located only at regional centres.

The number of seats approved by INC for admittance to IGNOU Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Program ranges from PSC to PSC.

Time period:

The minimum span of the program is three years. Nevertheless, the students are given a maximum period of 5 years to finish the program from the date of enrollment. After which the student has to apply for readmission paying the fee for each incomplete course of theory.

 Eligibility Criteria:

In-service Nurses ·         Must have 10+2 with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

·         A minimum of two years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession.

 

For male nurses who have not done midwifery ·         Must have a certificate in any of the Nursing courses of 6-9 months duration.

·         Must be done by the Indian Nursing Council instead of midwifery.

In-service Nurses (RNRM) ·         10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent.

·         Three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

·         A minimum of five years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession.

 

For males’ nurses who have not done midwifery ·         Must have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration.

·         Must be prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council instead of midwifery.
