IIIT Amethi shuts down, students to be moved to IIIT Allahabad

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Amethi also known as the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Information Technology,   an institute which was established 11 years ago, has shut down. The students have now been moved to IIIT Allahabad to complete their studies. However, the administration staff is stuck in limbo since there is no information about the transfer or replacement of the staff.

IIIT Amethi is an extension campus of the IIIT Allahabad. The campus will now make way for the satellite institute of Babaseheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow. The decision to shut down the campus was taken earlier in 2016 by the MHRD. IIIT Amethi has no official website, however, the students spend the first three years of B.Tech in Amethi and are then transferred to IIIT Allahabad for the  final year, and placements.
