IIM L and K to organize international tourism conference

“The purpose of the conference is to explore contemporary issues and business factors influencing the present state of tourism across the globe,” stated IIM-L’s official release. “India is stated to emerge as the fastest growing tourism destination between 2005-14,” according to World Tourism and Travel Council (WTTC), added the release.

“The sessions of International Conference will focus on Tourism Management: Conceptual Issues, Technological interventions in tourism, Marketing intervention in Tourism, Budding researchers, Tourism Management – Health & other issues, Finance & HR issues in tourism and Eco-tourism,” it said. Research papers will also be presented by scholars, professors and specialists from top Indian and foreign engineering as well as business colleges.

According to WTTC, 215 million jobs were dependent on the tourism economy in 2004 while India gained nearly $11 billion as tourism revenue in 2007, hence a profound study was initiated, said the statement.
