IIM Rohtak to conduct CAP for new IIM’s for batch 2017-19

IIM Rohtak will conduct the Common Admission Process (CAP) for admission into the new IIMs for the batch of 2017-19.

The benefit of CAP is that the organising institute will conduct interviews for all IIMs and colate the scores and send them to the 9 IIMs. CAT candidates no longer have to appear for separate interviews in different IIMs. Once the scores have been sent by IIM Rohtak, each of the new IIMs will create shortlist of candidates and send them to IIM Rohtak, which will then publish a combined list on their website.

Students shortlisted for some older IIMs might not have to appear for the CAP, as some of the older IIMs will be sharing their PA scores with IIM Rohtak. Those candidates who have received shortlist calls by more than one older IIM will have their scores averaged across the IIMs where they have been interviewed. Finally, the scores of the PA process will be shared with the other IIMs participating in CAP, who will then make their own merit lists according to the normalized scores.

Students should note that each of the 9 new IIMs follow different shortlisting criteria. This criterion for each IIM is included in their admission policy which can be found on their websites.

Last year, the CAP was conducted by IIM Kashipur
