Indian Gaming Expo thrills Indian gamers

The most anticipated time of the year for Indian gamers
arrived last week with the Indian Games Expo (IGX) held at the Bombay
Exhibition Centre on 14-15 Nov. . Gamers queuing to get hands on experience of
the latest video games and a room full of dexterous coders and developers is
indeed an extremely rare sight. The event acted as an eye-opener for the horde
that underrates gaming as a profession, and served an opportunity for budding
gaming aspirants to get a reasonable quotient of exposure.

IGX had a number of gaming competitions and thus received an
overwhelming response. These competitions included games like Assassin’s Creed:
Syndicate, Batman: Arkham Knight, Bloodborne, Call of Duty: Black Ops III,
Drive Club, Fallout 4, FIFA 16, WWE 2k16, and many more. Participants managed
to put in a reasonable pile of effort in order to emerge victorious in their
respective events. The winners were rewarded with commendable prizes. The total
prize pool was a cool amount of Rs. 3 Lakhs. In addition to these, game launches
and deals relevant to games and hardware were highlighted in the presence of
some die-hard admirers.

Gaming in India isn’t considered to be a real profession.
People who look forward to construct a career in this field are prone to heavy
criticism from society. In such circumstances, these events help them to prove
their point and also create maximum awareness about the scope of their
profession.

Even for our talented coders and developers, IGX was a dream
come true. Healthy interaction with multiple professionals helped them gain an
appreciable amount of expertise. The beginners came up with innovative ideas in
order to solicit reviews. Such an experience would have been a memorable one
for such coders and developers who wish to pursue careers in Gaming.
Considering everything, IGX is bound to widen the gaming culture in India in
the forthcoming years.
