ISB&M Pune: Dawn of Literary Hope with Debate Club
Communication, in context of the dynamic nature of today’s competitive world, is the fundamental essential, especially in every format of B-Schools and with that philosophy in mind, International School Of Business & Media, witnessed the dawn of its first ever Literary Society.
Debate Club was established on July 22nd 2016, with the objective of taking the standards of communication and public speaking to another level of supremacy being led by an experienced mentor, Professor Jayaraman, someone who has harnessed credibility and excellence in the domain of teaching and directorship across the B-School platform. Through his cutting-edge experience backed by the ability of effortless communication, he spearheads the team with the objective to alleviate fear of public speaking and helping each MBA aspirant become a well-spoken and confident speaker of the future.
The Launch witnessed an introductory debate by the organizing cell. The topic for the debate was, ‘The ban imposed by CBFC on movies, such as Udta Punjab, is justified”. The treasury and the opposition put forth their arguments in favor and against the topic, while our esteemed panel of judges, including our President- Dr Pramod Kumar; Executive Director-Dr Anirbaan Sengupta and Dr. P.K.Dey, assessed the participants on communication parameters.
Post a series of arguments, the judges decided that the motion was passed as the treasury put forth a more logical sequencing and reasoning of the ban imposed by the CBFC was indeed justified. Abhishek Mishra, from PGDM Batch 2016-18 won the award for the Best Speaker & Most Humourous Speaker.
