JEE Main Exam 2019 Paper Pattern
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a popular engineering exam for 10+2 students conducted by NTA. It is for admission in NITs, IIITs and CFTI’s. It has two papers, Paper-1 and Paper-2 containing multiple choice questions. Paper -1 is for admission in B.E. and B.Tech while Paper-2 is for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses. The main and most basic thing to know about an exam is its pattern.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the pattern of the paper for the year 2019. There will be two shifts per day for both Paper-1 and Paper-2. The mode in which the paper will be conducted will be fully computer-based for Paper-1 and partly computer-based and partly pen and paper-based for Paper-2. Also, they have mentioned on their website that there is no change in the syllabus. Both the papers will be held twice i.e. in January and in April.
JEE Main 2019 Paper Pattern for Paper-1
The Paper-1 is held for admission in B.E. and B.Tech courses. The first attempt of JEE Main 2019 Paper-1 was held from January 9-12 in 8 different slots. The second attempt will be held in April.
Exam Mode
From this year onwards, the NTA has declared that the Paper-1 will be held only in computer-based mode. The paper will be available in both English and Hindi languages. For candidates from Gujarat, Daman, and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Gujarati medium is also available.
Duration of Exam
The total duration of the exam is 3 hours without any sectional limit.
Subjects
There are three subjects i.e. physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Marking Scheme
For each right answer 4 marks are allotted and for every wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted. No marks are given for un-attempted questions.
Types of questions
The paper will be consisting of multiple choice questions. There will be 4 options for each question with only one right answer.
Number and marks of questions
The question paper consists of a total of 90 questions 4 marks each. The total marks of the exam are 360. The various sections constitute of the subjects physics, chemistry, and maths.

JEE Main Paper Pattern 2019 for Paper-2
The Paper-2 is held for admission in B.Arch and B.Planning courses. The first attempt of JEE Main 2019 Paper-1 was held on January 8 in 2 slots. The second attempt will be held in April.

JEE Main Mock test paper
The JEE Main Mock test paper is now available on the website for practice. As the computer-based exam pattern is new, the NTA has established various test practice centers for students to practice mock tests. Various schools and engineering colleges are identified by NTA where practice centers are opened for JEE aspirants to get familiar with the new computer-based mode.
JEE Main Syllabus 2019
The syllabus comprises of class 11th and 12th syllabus with variation in difficulty level. Paper-1 and Paper-2 both comprise of 3 sections with variation in subjects. Paper-1 comprises of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics while Paper-2 comprises of Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing.
