The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published an official notification announcing that it will re-open application form for UGC NET Dec 2019, CSIR NET Dec 2019, JEE Main 2020, IIFT 2020 for students of Jammu and Kashmir.
The decision came after the formal request made by the Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Srinagar & Jammu for the extension of the last date for submission of online application form of UGC-NET December 2019.
Application forms will now be available once again for all the four exams from November 4 to 8, 2019. In the five days windows, only candidates from Jammu and Kashmir will be able to apply. It may be noted that today, the state of Jammu and Kashmir transitioned to union territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
Registration, application form filling, fee payment, and form submission – all four steps need to be completed within these dates only. The link will be reopened for all the examinations scheduled to be held in December-January and whose registration has been otherwise closed.

However, it is pertinent to note that the date on which admit cards for UGC NET and CSIR NET exams are supposed to release are November 9, 2019, just one day after the new last date to apply for J&K candidates. In such a situation, an important question arises on whether it will be feasible for NTA to issue admit cards in such a rushed schedule.

The official notification reads, “With reference to D.O. No.PS/HED/2019/2442 dated 24th October 2019 from Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Srinagar & Jammu regarding the extension of last date for submission of online application form of UGC-NET December 2019, the Competent Authority has allowed the candidates of Jammu & Kashmir only to submit the online application forms during 04th to 8th November 2019 (including successful final transaction of fee) for the following examinations to be conducted by the NTA in December, 2019 and January, 2020.”
