JoSAA 2016: What are the important things to remember while filling in choices?

Picture for representation purpose only.

To participate in the seat allocation process, candidates will have to login to the JoSAA website using their JEE (Main) 2016 Roll Number and password.

To secure admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs/GFTIs through JoSAA 2016, candidates will be allowed to fill their choice of academic programs in different participating institutions from June 24.

Things to remember

– A candidate is eligible to participate in the seat allocation process based on one, two or all three examinations viz., JEE (Advanced) 2016, JEE (Main) 2016 Paper-1 (B.E. / B.Tech.) and JEE (Main) 2016 Paper-2 (B.Arch. / B.Planning). However, irrespective of eligibility, only one seat from among the choices filled-in is made available to candidates. Hence, it is important for candidates to carefully prioritize the academic programs while filling in the choices.

– Candidates will be allowed to fill choices from June 24 to June 28. A mock seat allocation based on choices filled by candidates will be displayed on June 27 (Day four). So, candidates have a five-day window to fill-in their choices.

– ‘Locking’ their choices after mock seat allocation is the most important part of the process. If candidates do not lock their choices, last saved choices will be locked automatically on the last minute of the last date of choice filling. Candidates will NOT be able to change their choices / preference order any more.
