Kota fares well in JEE Mains 2016 but Hyderabad robs the thunder

Today was the grand finale in the three-phased Mains 2016 exams – offline on April 3, and online on April 9 and 10 – with the results being announced at 5 pm. The final counting of selections from the coaching capital revealed that Kota students have once again led the pack. 

Although the result compilation work was still on, coaching institutes have claimed triumph with many selections and high scores of their students.

Resonance Coaching Institute of Kota had many reasons to cheer as its student Utkarsh Gupta, who has scored 335 out of 360 marks, is likely to be the topper from Rajasthan in IIT JEE 2016. “Utkarsh has scored 120 out of 120 in the Mathematics paper,” said RK Verma, Managing Director, Resonance. He further informed that the state’s second topper – Sidhant Kar who has scored 327 out of 360 marks – is also from his institute. The counting of the selections in JEE Mains at Resonance was still underway till the filing of this news report.

The coaching town is abuzz with the sound of firecrackers and celebrations after the declaration of results of JEE Mains 2016.

As the JEE Mains, results were declared in the late evening today, so coaching institutes of Kota are still compiling the figures of student selections in JEE Mains results. Most of the coaching institutes have informed about the initial trends and results.

Brajesh Maheshwari of Allen Career Institute, Kota, told that six of their institute’s students have scored full marks (120/120) in Mathematics paper which is a big achievement. “Shashwat Aggarwal with a score of 325 out of 360 marks is the topper from Allen,” he said. Maheshwari revealed that three of Allen’s students – Aman Bansal, Ankit Dhankad and Syamantak Kumar – have scored 320 marks each in JEE Mains. “Two of our students – Vansh Jaiprakash and Kapil Shobnani – have scored 315 marks each,” he added. He stated that 25 of Allen’s students have scored more than 300 marks in JEE Mains.

Shailendra Maheshwari, Director, Career Point Institute, Kota revealed that so far 2,873 selections have been reported from their institute so far;  the result compilation work is still on. He said, “Adarsh Sahu is the topper from our institute. He has scored 300 marks. He added that two others – Sankit Shrivastava and Appari Lalit – have scored 290 marks each. “Around 42 students of our institute have scored more than 250 marks,” he said.

Kota has once again proved to be the Mecca of IIT JEE coaching in the country.
