Time Management Strategy:
Before formulating a time management strategy, let’s analyse the exam pattern thoroughly.
Sections like ‘Reasoning Ability’ & ‘Quantitative’ are most important because each question in these sections carries 3 marks.
Questions in sections like General Awareness & Computer Awareness carry 2 marks each.
So, you have to clear sectional cut-offs for each section. The overall cut-off will be out of 300 marks. (As the marks secured in the English language section will not be counted in overall cut-off)
You should begin your exam with sections like Computer Awareness & General Awareness. You can solve the 60 questions in the first 25-30 minutes as they are easy and straight forward.
After this, you can move for either Reasoning Ability or Quantitative Aptitude. Of the remaining 100 minutes, you can use 70 minutes to deal with both these sections. It is advised that you attempt at least 25+ questions in each.
Remaining 20 minutes should be enough for
vii) Reasoning Ability: Questions based on Syllogism, Inequality & Input-Output are generally less time-consuming. Their solutions can be derived by using simple tricks and formulae. Thus, you should attempt these questions first.
viii) Questions on Seating Arrangement and Puzzles are often asked in groups. If you are able to solve/arrange things for the entire set, the whole bunch can be answered at a time. Read such questions quickly but carefully and attempt a set only if you are confident of solving it within 5 minutes.
ix) Do not waste time on sets that appear too complicated. However, remember that you have to solve at least one arrangement set out of two.
x) Miscellaneous questions are easy and quick to solve. You can tackle
xi) Quantitative Aptitude: You should start this section by solving DI sets first. Such questions often involve basic mathematical concepts and are formula-based. Try to complete DI within 15 minutes.
xii) Then, focus on topics like Approximation,
xiii) Devote the remaining time to solve questions based on Arithmetic.
