Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM) was established in 1993 in Hyderabad as a not-for profit educational society and was registered under the Societies Act. VJIM is one of the six educational institutions sponsored and run by Vignana Jyothi educational society. The society takes the pride of having eminent personalities like Academicians, Businessmen, NRIs and Professionals reputed for achieving commendable results in their respective fields as its founding and governing members.
VJIM is an autonomous institute approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India for awarding a two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), PGDM (Marketing), PGDM (General Management) and PGDM (Business Economics) as full time programmes with the total intake of 300 students in a year.
Owing to its standards in terms of infrastructure, technology support, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities, innovative teaching methods in the class room, VJIM is rated as one of the best governed B-Schools, at par with IIMs and XLRI. In 2011, VJIM was ranked in the A2 category, i.e., within first 38 B-Schools (Indian Management, May 2011). It is ranked 20th in infrastructure (physical and academic) by CSR-GHRDC B-School survey. It has a fully air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 450, seminar halls, conference rooms and a library with more than 30,000 books, more than 150 online and offline journals,and databases like CMIE. Various co-curricular events and extra-curricular events organized by the institute include C. K. Prahalad Memorial All India Quiz Competition and Peter F Drucker All India Debate Competition in which thousands of students from various B-Schools across the country participate every year. Students of VJIM take active participation in the various events organized by different B-Schools across the country and win prizes regularly.
VJIM organizes national/international conference every year and CEOs of top companies are the speakers of the conference. In addition to this, a series of seminars are held regularly on various functional areas of management aiming at providing the students with a platform to interact with the representatives of the industry.
VJIM aims at creating all-inclusive managers, by equipping its students with a sound knowledge of all core business skills and by preparing them to play a constructive role under any business situations. The course structure at VJIM is constantly updated at par with the changing demands of globalized markets.
