The MHT CET 2016 results were declared today, Wednesday, June 1, 2016. Chinmay Ghanekar from Mumbai has topped the exam with a score of 199/200.
Along with MHT CET, Chinmay has also given JEE Mains and BITSAT this year. Despite being the MHT CET topper, gaining admission to a state engineering college is not his priority. He is hoping to secure a seat in an NIT through the JoSAA allocation process. However, he does have some state colleges shortlisted in case his NIT dream doesn’t come through. CoEP (College of Engineering), Pune and VJTI (Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute), Mumbai are his top choices in that respect. While many exam toppers hope to bag a seat in the Computer Science branch in engineering colleges, Chinmay on the other hand is inclined towards Mechanical Engineering. He says, “I know I can get CS in whichever college I want in Maharashtra, but I have no interest in computers.”
When PaGaLGuY contacted Chinmay, he said, “My friends here are more excited with my marks than I am.” He gives credit to his professors, especially Prof Manish who taught him Maths. He has earned 100/100 in Maths. Students and professors at his coaching institute were rejoicing over his achievement
The MHT-CET website will most likely declare the confirmed ranks by June 14, 2016.
