A total of 23 companies came to the campus with nearly 115 offers for a batch of 94 students.
Says Nikhil Raval, Manager, Placements, “The placements for Summer internship have been very satisfying indeed. Many prestigious first-time recruiters such as Essar and Godrej also participated. Also, there was a very good mix of brand management, media management, brand communications management and marketing research profiles on offer.” The recruiters too were happy with the high quality of students on show and the transparency of the placement process.
Students received offers from other diverse sectors such as general management, knowledge process outsourcing (KPOs), data analytics, entertainment & media, FMCGs and risk consulting. Some of the renowned names that recruited include Ernst & Young, Hewlett Packard, Siemens, Titan, Godrej, Hindustan Times, Radio Mirchi, Adlabs and Essar.
With a new streamlined process in place that ensured best fit for both recruiters and students, the summer placements were bang on target, showing a substantial improvement in the acceptance of MICAns within industry. The average salary offered as stipend for Summer Placements 2007 touched Rs. 11,000.
All in all, the Summer Placements process has proven yet again that MICA is unmatched in India, in terms of catering to the requirements of innovative marketing and communications professionals.
