K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR) conducted the Retail Management flagship event National retail Summit aka NRS. NRS is the annual two-day fest organised by the students of PGDM Retail Management every year.
NRS had got all you needed to know about the retail industry in India. The two day summit consisted of events like Panel Discussion, Retail Mela, Kurukshetra (Pan India Case Study Competition) and Retail Khichdi.
Day 1 of NRS started with Kurukshetra, one of the biggest retail based case study competitions of the country exclusively designed for the students pursuing post-graduation in the field of Marketing, Communications and Retail Management. It tested the strategic and analytical skills of the participants and provided them the opportunity to explore the deeper side of their learning concepts and implement them in practical problems or situations.
The case study competition was followed by a Humming and Learning session by Mr. Hariharan Iyer, a Motivational Speaker, Corporate Trainer, Mentor & Author ,who is also a recipient of the Karmaveer Chakra . Humming & Learning is a unique KARAOKE-based motivational session in which Mr. Hariharan derives lessons from motivational songs for the audience.
Day 2 started with the Key note address by our Chief Guest

Mr. Deepak Patkar, Executive VP, Fullerton India Credit Company
Mr. Kaushal Thakkar, Digital marketer, Craftsvilla
Mr. Chirag Bhuva, Director, Vistaprint discussed the current scenario of the market.
Retail Khichdi which was a fun filled and adventurous event probed into various domains of retail and was enjoyed thoroughly by the participants.
Retail Mela, a flea market, was organised with various stalls of chocolates, clothing, cakes , pastries, games and pani puri.
The event was a huge success and we hope that the same legacy will be followed next year with new faces and talents!
