NEET 2016: Admission in private medical/dental colleges based on first selection list of DMER to end on September 22

The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Maharashtra has notified the selected medical aspirants, through the first selection list for admission in medical and dental colleges in the state, to take admission before September 22, 2016. The selection list was published by DMER on September 19, 2016 and the listed aspirants were called for admission to the allotted colleges.

Since the selection list on DMER website came late at night on September 19, it reduced the time available for aspirants to seek admissions. The medical aspirants were already in a fix due to the uncertainty over the admission procedure as the Bombay High Court judgment over 85% domicile policy of the state was pending till 3 pm on September 19.

The medical aspirants will now have to report to their allotted colleges and secure admission before 5 pm. on September 22, 2016. The second list of selected candidates on the basis of their All India NEET ranks is going to be published on the official website of DMER on September 23, 2016. The admission process for this year at the private medical/dental colleges will finish on September 26, 2016.
