NEET 2020: Other Medical Entrance Examinations to consider

There are a total of three national-level medical entrance examinations that are held every year in India. One of them is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the other two are AIIMS for admissions in All India Institute of Medical Sciences and JIPMER for admissions in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research.

NEET 2020 is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is scheduled to be conducted on May 3, 2020. The online application for the NEET 2020 will commence from December 2, 2019, and the last date for submitting the NEET 2020 application is December 31, 2019.

The AIIMS 2020 is an entrance test conducted to assess the eligibility of the candidate to get admission in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. There are over 15 AIIMS institutions across various states in India. The AIIMS 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on May 30 and 31, 2020.

There are over 1207 seats in the AIIMS institutes with 107 seats in AIIMS New Delhi. There are 50 – 100 seats in each of the AIIMS institutes across different states. The examination pattern of the AIIMS 2020 has five sections: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Knowledge, Aptitude and Logical Reasoning with a total of 200 questions.

JIPMER 2020 is an entrance examination conducted to test the eligibility of the candidates to get admission in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research institutions to pursue MBBS. There are two JIPMER institutes in India, one in Puducherry, and the other in Karaikal.

JIPMER 2020 is a computer-based test (CBT). The official notification about the examination date has not yet released however, the exam is conducted in the first week of June every year. The total number of available seats in JIPMER institutes are 200 with 150 seats in Puducherry and 50 seats in Karaikal respectively.

NEET 2020: How to apply

Candidates can apply online for the NEET 2020 through the official website of the NTA (National Testing Agency): ntaneet.nic.in. Step-wise instructions are mentioned below on how to apply online for NEET 2020 for the candidates to follow at the time of application.

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA (National Testing Agency): ntaneet.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link ‘NEET (UG) 2020-Online Application’ to proceed further.

Step 3: The link will be redirected to a new webpage, an information bulletin about the online application process will be displayed on the screen, read it carefully and proceed further.

Step 4: Register on the website by providing the required personal information.

Step 5: Once registered, login credentials will be provided via email and SMS, save it for future use and log in using the provided credentials.

Step 6: Fill the application with the required information.

Step 7: Upload the scanned copies of the required images and certificates and submit.

Step 8: Make the payment for the application fee.

Step 9: Upon successful payment of the application fee, a copy of the filled-in application form will be displayed on the screen, download and take a printout for future use.
