National Institute of Technology, Patna
Bihar College of Engineering, Patna was renamed National Institute of Technology, Patna on 28. 01. 2004. NIT Patna is situated on the South bank of river Ganges behind Gandhi Ghat. The campus is 8 Km from the Patna junction railway station and 20 Km from the International Airport, Patna. Its 60 acres campus has a river running through it, with historic buildings spread out.
Three boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels provide accommodation to the students. Presently, all the girls and most of the boys are accommodated in these hostels. The hostels are wi fi enabled.A huge ground is maintained for playing cricket and football. A
Tennis court, Basketball court and Badminton court are also present. Several
other sports such as Table Tennis, Athletics, Volleyball and others are also
conducted. Allahabad Bank has a branch and an ATM within the institute
premises.

NIT Patna offers graduate, post graduate and doctoral programmes to its students.
Life beyond the classroom
Melange is
the annual cultural fest of NIT Patna held in January while Corona is the annual technical meet.
The Indoor and Outdoor societies together organise the sports festival Parakrama every year. There are many
other societies on campus.
