The Orissa Public Service Commission was formed on April 01, 1949 and its head office located at Cuttack, Odisha. Its main functions include the recruitment of the candidates for the posts in the state Government through competitive exams and interviews as prescribed in the recruitment rules, advice regarding the framing of recruitment rules and amendment with the conditions. It conducts exams like Tourist Officer, Junior Executive officer, Junior Lecturer in OES, Odisha Civil Service ; Judicial Service Examination, Odisha Education Services examination etc. At present, the Commission has six members which were increased from five members in 1979.

How to Apply for OPSC Recruitment 2019:
Interested candidates need to apply online by visiting the Official Website. No other mode of application submission would be accepted.
Candidates should have valid a personal E-mail ID. It should be kept active till the recruitment process is fully complete.
Candidates should keep the following ready before registering applications:
- Valid E-mail id
- Scanned copy of latest passport size coloured photograph.
- Scanned image of Left Hand Thumb Impression (LTI).
Essential Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institution in India with at least one of the following subjects namely, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Zoology or a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Selection Procedure
Selection of candidates for all the posts would be made on the basis of the performance of the eligible candidates in the following:
- Written examination: 1400 marks
- Physical test
- Viva Voice test: 200 marks
Age
Minimum: 21 years
Maximum: 32 years
Cut Off Date: 01.01.2019
Candidates should not have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1987 and not later than 1st January 1998.
Upper Age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, Socially & Educationally Backward Classes (S.E.B.C.), Women and Ex-servicemen.

Pay Scale
Assistant Conservator of Forests (Group-A)(JB): Rs.56100/- in Pay Matrix-12, Cell-01 of ORSP Rules, 2017.
Forest Ranger, Odisha Forest Service (Group-B): Rs.44,900/- in Pay Matrix- 10, Cell-01 of ORSP Rules, 2017 under Forest & Environment Department.
Physical Standards
Male:
Height: 163 cm
Chest: At least 84cm. expandable to at least 89 cm.
Physical Endurance Test: 25 km in 4 hours of walking.
Female:
Height: 150 cm
Chest: At least 79cm. expandable to at least 84 cm.
Physical Endurance Test: 16 km in 4 hours of walking.
Place of Examination
Examination Centre: Cuttack. It may be held at Bhubaneswar/Balasore/Berhampur/Sambalpur.
