The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh has released the list of eligible candidates who can give the entrance examination for the MD/MS course for the January 2017 session. A total of 8,818 candidates have been selected for the entrance examination, which will take place on November 20, 2016. The examination will take place at the various test centres across Chandigarh.
There are 148 seats in 20 different departments in which the institute is offering the MD/MS course to the interested medicos, for the January session. There is a reservation of 5% seats in the institute for medicos who are presently working or have worked and carried practice in a rural area for minimum two years on or before December 31.
Candidates need to have an MBBS degree from any MCI-recognized institute and must have completed their compulsory internship of 1 year, on or before December 31, 2016 in order to apply for the entrance examination. The PGIMER website has also listed the 506 ineligible candidates for the examination, due to non-submission of NOC and other necessary certification. The admit card for the entrance examination will be out on the website soon.
