Most of the Placements will be done in November, December-2015 and January- 2016. The selfless commitment of Placement Committee backed by the External Relations team has been able to attract several new companies and we expect to have companies offering many more profiles as compared to last year. The salary compensations are expected to increase this year.
Abhishek Kumar, Convenor, Placement Committee felt, “We expect 30% of students to receive a package of Rs. 9,00,000 and more in the prestigious organization.” Regarding the trend in the job market he felt that the signals are positive, indicating a very Placement season ahead. Among all the companies that visited the campus so far, BFSI companies had a significant share followed by IT and other sectors. About the success of the placements this season, he says “The biggest accolade goes to the student driven Placement Committee (actively supported by the External Relations Team of SIMSR), which is a panel organising, facilitating and regulating the summer and final placements on the campus. Right from the beginning, students are encouraged to choose their specialization and then they are provided with updated and relevant curriculum focussed on meeting the current requirements, industry demand and job market demand.
Shruti, an MBA student is preparing for her placements. Many of her friends are placed and she is leaving no stones unturned to join their pack soon. As the placement process in SIMSR is completely a student driven activity all her problems and requirements are personally addressed. A typical placement procedure is normally 6 steps process including signups, pre placement talks, stage two sign ups, written test, GD and personal interview. ” Placing a batch of 470, that too in dream companies and in most coveted profiles is no easy deal; Kudos to our friends in Placement Committee. As for myself, I am glad that faculty is always there to guide and counsel us. I am in no hurry. I am realistic but not dismayed. I am waiting for the profiles that match my long term career goals. Seeing the trend, I just have to keep my calm and give my best.”
I hope this post helps debunk some of the fears related to the volatility of job scenario in the country. The Quality of the education and the choices we make regarding our career are the two important stakeholders of our future. With this thought, SIMSR wishes all the MBA aspirants and MBA students’ good luck for their future. We will soon be sharing more updates.
