RBI Assistant 2018 Notification

The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is India’s central banking institution for controlling the issue and supply of Indian Rupee. RBI was established on April 01, 1935 which has headquarters at Mumbai, Maharashtra. RBI plays an important role in the Development policy of the Indian Government and it is also known as the banker’s bank. It is a leading member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and is also active in promoting the financial inclusion policy.

RBI conducts the recruitment exam for the post of Assistant each year. There are a total of 623 vacancies (approximately) in various offices of the RBI. The RBI notification for 2018 was released on the month of October 2018. The interested candidates have applied for the Assistant job and the candidates are waiting for the mains exam for.

The selection process for the RBI Assistant Exam:

The selection process for RBI Assistant exam will have 3 stages. They are Preliminary examination and Mains examination.

The candidates who are eligible to write the prelims exam will be allowed to appear for the preliminary examination. This stage will have 3 sections. They are Reasoning ability (35 marks), Numerical ability (35 marks) and English Language (30 marks). Each question will carry one mark and this exam will be held for a period of 1 hour. The candidates should clear the prelims exam in order to qualify for the mains exam. The results for the prelims exam will be released within 15- 20 days of the commencement of the exam.

The mains examination will have 5 sections in it. They are Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability, English Language, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. There is also a separate time duration for each section. It will be conducted for a total of 200 marks. Each section will have 40 questions in it. In order to get selected for the next stage, the candidates must clear the cutoff marks fixed by the exam board. The cutoff marks will be fixed by the authority themselves.

The candidates qualifying in both the stages of the RBI selection process will be called for the language proficiency test. This test will be of qualifying nature. If a candidate fails in the language proficiency test, he/ she will not be recruited for the job irrespective of the prelims and mains scores. So it is mandatory for the candidates to qualify in all the three stages of the selection process.

Result:

There will be no interview process for RBI Assistant post. The results for the main exam will be declared within 2- 3 months of the commencement of the exam process. The candidates can view the result in the official website of the RBI after it has been declared.
