RRB NTPC 2019 General Awareness Preparation Tips

RRB NTPC examination for stage I is to be held in June 2019 (tentatively). For this year, the number vacancies are 35, 000 and huge number of candidates are expected to attempt the examination. Both the prelims and mains exam pattern are the same for all the posts, but the marking scheme and the number of questions is different. The exam pattern for RRB NTPC is as follows:

  • General Science
  • General Awareness
  • Reasoning Ability
  • Arithmetic Ability

CBT stage I is of screening nature and the marks will be normalized. Each question comprises of one mark and 1/3 marks will be eliminated from the marks allotted for each question as there is negative marking applicable.

For any of the competitive examinations, General Awareness section is considered to be significant. The candidates can also score easily in this section and it also doesn’t require much time for answering. General Awareness section comprises of 40% of the total paper weight-age. It would be better to allocate at least one hour daily for the GA section to increase the total score. Mock tests which are considered a boon for the candidates who are preparing for the competitive examinations will aid a lot in RRB NTPC GA section. The candidates can attempt mock tests at regular intervals of time so that they can update their performance level and improve their preparation.
