SNAP 2013 registrations now open, process sees major changes
Registrations for Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2013 are now open. In an important change this year, there will only be a single registration process for all MBA programs offered by institutes under the Symbiosis International University (SIU). There will also be only single Personal Interaction and Writing Ability Test (PI-WAT) process for all programs at the Pune, Noida and the Bengaluru campuses.
Candidates for the PI-WAT process will be selected on the basis of their SNAP test scores and academic profile (AP) scores. AP scores will be calculated using the formula AP= (A*1)+(B*1.5)+C*2.5 where A,B,C stand for scores obtained in class X, XII and graduation respectively. The formula is similar to the model Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad follows to calculate its Application Rating Score. The SNAP scores will be scaled down to 40 and the academic profile scores to 10 to arrive at the final score which will be out of 50 marks.
Shortlisted candidates will then need to book slots for the PI-WAT process. The PI and WAT carry a total of 50 marks with 35 marks being allotted to PI and 15 marks to WAT. The final merit list will be declared out of 100 marks with 50 marks from the first stage getting added to the 50 marks from the PI-WAT process. The Group Exercise (GE) process has been done away with. More details here
The application fee structure has also been altered. While SNAP exam fees have increased from Rs 1,550 to Rs 2,000, candidates can save some money by opting for multiple programs. Application to one program will cost Rs 1,500 whereas applicants can register for upto five programs for Rs 3,000. If a candidate opts for more than five programs, he/she will need to pay Rs 500 for every additional program.
Registrations close on November 22, 2013 and SNAP 2013 will be held on December 15, 2013. For registrations, click here
